UNDERSTAND THE COMPOUND

What is PT-141?

Bremelanotide is a cyclic peptide that acts on melanocortin receptors. Two phase 3 trials enrolled premenopausal women with diagnosed hypoactive sexual desire disorder and evaluated a defined clinical formulation. Questionnaire measures of desire and related distress improved relative to placebo, while the change in the number of satisfying sexual events did not differ significantly between groups. Nausea, flushing and headache occurred more often with bremelanotide. These findings apply to the studied population and formulation. They do not establish general sexual enhancement or the quality, safety or clinical equivalence of a research vial.
