View available COAsRetatrutide combines activity at three hormone receptors involved in metabolic regulation. A 2023 phase 2 obesity trial enrolled 338 adults and measured weight change over 48 weeks; a separate phase 2 trial studied glucose control and weight in 281 adults with type 2 diabetes. Both used defined clinical study formulations under trial supervision. The obesity trial found greater weight reduction than placebo, alongside gastrointestinal adverse events and increases in heart rate. The diabetes study found that several, but not all, tested groups achieved greater HbA1c reductions than placebo.
